Includes a print cover as JPEG, PNG, and PDF in addition to the Custom Illustration: Ebook package. Note: for custom illustration I need to know whether the cover will ever have a print version before I begin to draw, so that I can make sure the background wraps around properly.

Marketing Package

The exact contents of the marketing package depends on the cover. For basic covers it includes a mockup, the cover text on a transparent background, and a textless version of the cover. For custom illustration it will usually include the above, as well as the illustration on a transparent background and whatever background pattern I used for the cover, if applicable to the illustration style.

Please discuss with me if you would like other subdivisions of the artwork. I am happy to create social media graphics at my hourly rate, but I am also happy to facilitate authors who want to attempt to make their own graphics.

Hourly Rate

Extensive Illustration or Other Services

For covers with extremely complex or extensive illustration, I add my hourly rate to a $300 minimum once I have reached the minimum at my rate. My current hourly rate for cover design work is $30/hr. (Please note that my hourly rate for branding and other design work is significantly higher.) If you are interested in this option, please discuss your budget with me ahead of time.

I also charge hourly with a 1 hour minimum for cover updates/variations after publication, i.e. for foreign language covers, audiobook covers, or the addition of new quotes/taglines. For multiple books in the same series, the 1 hour minimum applies to the series as a whole for batch updates.

Custom Illustration Examples:

Unshaded, simplified illustration styles at a flat rate.

Extensive Illustration Examples:

Shaded, complex illustration styles billed hourly.
