Research & Ideation

Cheese tea is a relatively new drink; It was invented in Taiwan in 2010, and it has already become extremely popular in Asian markets. However, it has yet to make the jump to America, most likely due to the name.

It was an odd product to be assigned, in part because there is no existing company that bottles cheese tea.

Brand

In order to combat the reaction Americans have to the words “cheese tea” I de-emphasized the product name in comparison to the brand name. For the main brand color I choose a light blue, to be supported by yellow or cream.

Iterations

Though Chalo would primarily be sold by the individual bottle, packaging for the occasional four pack was also needed.

Final Surfaces

The final packages include a pink color for the lychee flavor in addition to blue, yellow, and cream, and the 4-pack is almost entirely cream-colored on top, much like the drink foam itself.
